Marketing Analyst (Contract)

We are looking for a data-driven, business analyst to join our team helping our portfolio of clients translate their customer data into critical insights that drive strategic decision-making and tactical results.  In this role, you will develop and execute marketing reports and analyses to drive customer growth, engagement, and retention. This role encompasses strategy and planning; analytics and reporting; and execution of data warehouse list pulls and lead uploads to inform smart campaigns, email performance analysis and reporting, and churn analytics.

  • Partner with client marketing teams to develop high-performing campaigns to promote customer engagement.
  • Analyze campaign performance across KPIs; maintain and regularly communicate dashboard results. Leverage learnings to inform future campaign planning.
  • Build and execute email testing roadmap to constantly optimize performance across customer interactions.
  • Drive triggered lifecycle campaigns and broader retention marketing goals beyond email to increase repeat purchase and lifetime value. Continually evaluate optimal customer segmentation and audience strategy.
  • Develop and update reporting across multiple data sources for digestion by senior executives

This role requires specific experience building & explaining trended performance analytics within a subscription/membership business framework, including:  list pulling, email performance analysis and reporting, and churn analytics.

Given the expected level of interaction with large datasets, a successful candidate will also demonstrate expertise in:

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Data visualization design and development using tools like Tableau, Power BI, SAS Visualizer, etc.
  • Relational database construction & management, including SQL development
  • CRM software including Salesforce and Marketo

Position/Program Requirements:

  • Location: Washington DC Metro Area
  • Start date: May 2018
  • Onsite time with client: 5 days / 30 hours per week
  • Duration: 3 months, with potential for extension
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 2-4
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree
  • Preferred: Previous marketing experience in a subscription-based business, B2B focus is a plus
